For more than 140 years, American Standard has been setting and resetting the standards in the sectors of health, safety, responsibility, and beauty. While for some, following trends and sticking with the status quo might be enough, for American Standard it is just unthinkable not to challenge what is considered possible and not to imagine and design – relentlessly – products that till yesterday seemed impossible. American Standard’s driving force is to design and manufacture solutions with better tubs, faucets, sinks, and toilets that make our life easier and our world a better place.

What did they need from us?

Always looking ahead and with its commitment to innovation, American Standard opted for a luxury inspired web design that would change the way consumers perceived the industry and their whole online commerce experience. No wonder American Standard set out to collaborate – and most importantly trust – a digital partner with a deep knowledge of the ins and outs of Sitecore and the design chops to bring this refreshing vision to life.
Understanding and respecting the existing requirements and the high calibre of American Standard’s Sitecore environment and web development, Appnova’s team rolled up its sleeves and began working in order to design and deliver this new experience. To give every page, module, and component the necessary design thinking was crucial. This ensured that the mobile first design and experience was created and delivered exactly as American Standard expected.

How did we help?

By creating a responsive web design solution that could be built within the existing requirements for Sitecore!

Appnova designed and put forward a responsive web design solution that could be built considering the existing requirements for Sitecore. During a 9-month agile sprint schedule we succeeded in capturing design requirements, designing pages, modules, and components and working with the back-end development team to test them and integrate them into Sitecore, while keeping the project always on time.

A new style of navigation that gave users large visual cues for easier navigation was designed. Transformational components were created to give American Standard the ability to morph – what once was – a static idea and visual into an interesting user-controlled, frame-by-frame interaction for their RoomCreate design tools.

These components include a visualiser tool with which consumers can easily select from rooms that resemble their own bathrooms and kitchens and virtually plan and design their new spaces. This allows for total customisation; from the fittings and fixtures to the walls and floors.

American Standard wants to ensure an unmatched customer experience. Its minimal aim is to offer all its clients the absolute confidence that the products they select, turn into beautiful, excellent, useful and functional design choices; not only for their wet spaces but for their everyday lives!
